Dornfelder Crimson, deep coloured wine. Fruity, corpulent, mildness to racier acidity. Little weight, unspecified flavour and with few tanning agents. Adequate for barrel storage. It is suited for game animals, frying with strengthened sauces or for ham and red sausage. |

Portugieser Important red wine grape in Germany and Austria that produces light, fruity, sometimes sweet, red and rose wines. The formal name for this grape is Blauer Portugieser, and despite the name, it seems to have no connection to the country of Portugal. Adequate for tapas, tureens or shells. Red wines of this sort are suitable for frying, game animals and cheese. These wines should be young. |

Spätburgunder German term for the Pinot Noir grape. Its colour varies from brigthy red, ruby to crimson. Its aroma is fruity and rich and is evocative of blackberries. Riesling "The King of White Wines". A white wine grape that originated in Germany. It can produce styles varying from light, crisp, and decidedly tart, to rich, spicy, and complex. It is also referred to as Rhine Riesling, Riesling Renano (Italy), and White Riesling (US). It is not related to Welschriesling, Gray Riesling, Riesling Italico, or a host of other Eastern European Riesling names. Also known as Klingelberger. Meals: e.g. fish, seafood. |

Weißer Burgunder Also known as Pinot blanc. Aromatic, elegant and corpulent and an acidity with marked similarities. Meals: e.g. fish, seafood, white meat, poultry. |

Silvaner Neutral wine, fruity, with a tender bouquet and normally with a mild acidity. Meals: e.g. asparagus, fish, chicken, vitulary and roast pork. |

Müller-Thurgau Professor Dr. Müller from Schwitzerland crossed Riesling and Silvaner to produce Müller-Thurgau. But thanks to genetic researches it was found out that it was not Riesling but Gutedel. Nutmeg aroma, fresh, from mild to racier acidity. Meals: e.g. asparagus, sweetbread. |

Scheurebe Hybrid grape produced by crossing Riesling and Sylvaner. It is widely planted in the Rheinhessen and Pfalz regions of Germany. Opinions are seldom neutral about the exotic aromas and flavors of the wines from this grape. Black currants aroma. Meals: e.g. asiatic spiced meals. |

Kerner High quality white wine hybrid grape made from Schiava and Riesling. Meals: e.g. calf, pork and bouncing cheese sorts. |

Bacchus Named after the Winegod Bacchus, hybrid grape made from Silvaner, Riesling. It is very diffused in Tauberfranken and round of the Lake of Constance. It contains more must than the Müller-Thurgau. The wine is fruity and has a reaviling nutmeg bouquet and reminds of the one of Scheurebe. |

Morio Muskat Morio Muskat is made of Silvaner and Weißer Burgunder. Created by Peter Morio in 1928. The name is a special note for the breeder and the dominant nutmeg bouquet (but it does not belong to the muscatel sort). |
