Rheinhessen is not located in the region of Hessen but gets its name from its pertenence to the grand duchy Hessen. Nowadays, Rheinhessen belongs to the community Rheinland-Pfalz. It is the bigger and tradition-richest vine area in Germany and it is framed by the course of the river Rhine, Mainz, Worms, Alzey and Bingen. |
