The vineyard Engelhard is located in Hillesheim, a place on the heart of the region Rheinhessen, among Mainz, Worms and Alzey. Since several generations the family Engelhard plants and takes care of vines to get their juice into wine, sparkling wine and grape juice. Nowadays ca. 10 hectares of vineyards are managed by Werner, Ilse and Junior Manuel. Those are planted with read and white vines.

Two generations, one target

The senior provides with tradition, the junior with innovation: a perfect combination. Our target is to continually ascend our quality pretensions for the vineyard and the expansion of our cellars.

Our wines are excellent and mature in Hillesheim directly in the individual layers of Hillesheimer Altenberg and Hillesheimer Sonnheil.

The quality and unmistakable identity of our wines begin in the vineyard and therefore we personally take over all related to this work there. For example, during the harvest we adjust the steep for a salubrious wine sort throught selective choice and pressing without shafts.

The grape juice is naturally and sparing attenuated and taken into the bottle.

Our ambition for the future includes to follow the tradition and quality and further on to produce wines for exigent demands.
